This course is offered in English and German. Please note, however, that the course book (AHLS Provider Manual) is available exclusively in English and only in an online version. It must be studied in advance. Approximately 4 weeks are scheduled for this preparatory self-study.

Participants who have not completed the pre-test and have not fulfilled the “Finish Test” requirement must complete the pre-test on site as a mandatory prerequisite for participation. Please allow one hour before the official course start for this purpose: 07:45 am – 08:45 am.
The course will begin on 22 June 2026, with registration opening at 08:30 am, programme start at 09:00 am, and course conclusion on 23 June 2026 at 05:30 pm.
At the end of the first course day (Monday evening), you are warmly invited to a networking apéro. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a joint dinner (at your own expense).

All experts at the AHLS Faculty represent our core expertise and are listed on the main page; AHLS. The effective participation of faculty members in each course may vary depending on the size of the course and the number of participants, and will be published in the syllabus approximately four weeks before the start of the course.

The course is organized by the Swiss Center for Rescue, Emergency and Disaster Medicine (SCRED- SZRNK) in cooperation with SFG and in collaboration with Tox Info Suisse, Zurich and the Spiez Laboratory, Federal Office for Civil Protection, Switzerland
Course materials and preparation:
Course preparation through the AHLS Provider Manual (currently only available online, no hardcopy) guided by the “pre-test.”
The AHLS Provider Manual comprises approximately 500 pages and is in English. You will receive the access key for the manual as an online download approximately 4 weeks before the event. Allow for 20-30 hours of preparation time.
Course fees:
The course fees of CHF 1,100 include: license for the online course book, course materials, lunch and snacks during the course, international AHLS registration and the AHLS certificate. Travel and accommodation are not included in the course fees. These must be arranged individually and are not part of the course package.
Administrative information:
Course registration must be completed online. An email address, accessibly during the course must be provided. Course cancellations must be made in writing, and costs will be incurred in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions (GTC).
Certificate:
Training for interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to care for patients exposed to hazardous materials and dangerous goods. Course participants will be registered with the international AHLS-Provider-database.
The AHLS certificate is internationally approved and recognized.
Teilnehmende, die den Pretest nicht durchgearbeitet und den «Test beenden» nicht erfüllt haben, müssen den Pretest vor Ort zwingend, als Voraussetzung zum Teilnehmen, abschliessen. Dafür muss eine Stunde Zeit vor Kursbeginn eingerechnet werden: 7:45 bis 8:45 Uhr.
Der Kurs startet am 22.06.2026, Registrierung ab 8:30 Uhr, Programmstart um 9:00 Uhr, Kursende am 23.06.2026 um 17:30 Uhr.
Nach Tagesschluss des Kurses am Montagabend sind Sie herzlich zu einem Networking-Apéro eingeladen. Im Anschluss besteht die Möglichkeit, ein gemeinsames Abendessen zu geniessen (auf eigene Kosten).

Organisation:
Der Kurs wird vom Schweiz. Zentrum für Rettungs-, Notfall- und Katastrophenmedizin (SCRED) im Kontext mit SFG und in Zusammenarbeit mit Tox Info Suisse, Zürich und dem Labor Spiez, Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz durch das SCRED angeboten.
Kursunterlagen und Kursvorbereitung:
Kursvorbereitung mittels AHLS-Provider Manual (derzeit nur online verfügbar, keine Hardcopy) und dem online „Pretest“ als Guide durch das Manual.
Das AHLS-Provider Manual umfasst etwa 500 Seiten und ist nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar. Die AHLS-Faculty-Switzerland unterstützt die Teilnehmenden mit einem 4-sprachigen Glossary zur einfacheren Übersetzung der Fachbegriffe. Sie erhalten den Zugangs-Schlüssel für das Manual ca. 4 Wochen vor der Veranstaltung als Online-Download. Rechnen Sie mit 20-30 Stunden Vorbereitungszeit.
Kurskosten:
In den Kurskosten von CHF 1’100 enthalten sind; Lizenz für das Online-Kursbuch, Kursunterlagen, Zwischen- und Mittagsverpflegung während dem Kurs, internationale AHLS-Registrierung inkl. AHLS-Zertifikat. Nicht in den Kurskosten enthalten sind Anreise und Unterkunft. Diese sind individuell zu organisieren und nicht Bestandteil des Kursarrangements.
Administratives:
Die Kurs-Anmeldung muss «online» erfolgen. Es muss eine während des Kurses zugängliche E-Mail-Adresse angegeben werden. Eine Kursabsage muss schriftlich erfolgen, Kosten entstehen gemäss den Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen (AGB).
Zertifikat:
Das «AHLS Provider» Zertifikat ist international registriert und anerkannt und wird nach erfolgreichem Abschluss des Kurses von AHLS international ausgestellt. Damit werden Sie Teil der Community mit nahezu 22’000 Providern aus 84 Ländern.
Das Absolvieren des Kurses kann zur persönlichen Fortbildung unter Anrechnung von Credits deklariert werden (Fortbildungsordnung SFG/CSAM; SGNOR, SGKPT, SSAPM, SGC, SGI).

Pretest
Completion of the AHLS pre-test, including submission (“Finish Test”), is a prerequisite for course participation. The result, however, has no impact on participation eligibility or on certification. The pre-test must be completed online prior to the first course day.

Pretest
Das vollständige Durcharbeiten und Abschliessen (Test beenden) des AHLS-Pretests ist eine Voraussetzung für die Kursteilnahme, das Ergebnis hat jedoch keine Bedeutung für die Kursteilnahme oder das Zertifikat. Der Pretest muss vor dem ersten Kurstag online abgeschlossen werden.

It is of great importance that you register at AHLS.org, as otherwise your certification with AHLS International / University of Arizona will not be recorded. Without registration, you will not be able to complete your recertification online after the four-year period has expired.
Attendance Confirmation & AHLS Certificate
Your personal confirmation of participation (not the AHLS Provider Certificate) will be made available for download on the RescuePoint platform under “Records and Certificates” approximately 2–5 working days after successful course completion and once you have submitted the fully completed online course evaluation.
The international AHLS Provider Certificate, by contrast, is issued exclusively by AHLS International and will be made available for download on their platform.
IMPORTANT: In order to receive the AHLS Provider Certificate, please make sure to register at AHLS.org. Please use this link for registration, on the bottom of this page you will find a link to register into this course directly. (You may notice the course date is written in the U.S. American format ’06/22/26′, which translates to ‚June 22, 2026‘.)
SCRED will report your successful course completion to AHLS International after the event. After a processing period of approximately 10–15 days, you will receive an email from AHLS International (from @arizona.edu) with information on how to download your certificate.

Take the Basel City motorway exit and drive towards the SBB railway station, then towards the University Hospital/Spalentor. The entrance to City Parking is located after the “Spalentor” and shortly before the University Hospital (Klingelbergstrasse 20, 4056 Basel) See also Link: Parkleitsystem Basel.
Please note that parking is limited at the hotel itself.
The Hotel Odelya is about a 10-minute walk from the City parking.

BUS & TRAM
Bus line 30 stops directly in front of the main entrance to the SBB train station and takes you directly to the “Spaltentor” (see * ), after only 3 stops.
Bus line 30 also departs from Badischer Bahnhof and takes you to the “Spaltentor” (see *) stop in 12 minutes.
From Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse, first take bus no. 50 to the SBB train station, then bus no. 30 to the “Spaltentor” stop (see above). Those familiar with the area can also take line 50 to “Brausebad” and walk to the hotel via Birmannsgasse.
Public transport in Basel: When you book a hotel/hostel/apartment in Basel, you will usually receive the BaselCard for free bus and tram rides during your stay in Basel.

Accommodation
Accommodation arrangements are the responsibility of each participant. The organization of overnight stays as well as the associated costs are to be borne individually. Any hotel or lodging recommendations provided by SCRED are purely suggestions, non-binding, and therefore not part of the continuing education package.
We would, however, like to inform you that Hotel Odelya offers participants of this course a reduced overnight rate including breakfast for the night of 22–23 June 2026 at a special price of CHF 153. To benefit from this special rate, interested participants must contact Hotel Odelya directly via email: hotel@odelya.ch. and indicate the booking code „AHLS26“.
Please note that bookings made indirectly through the hotel website or via third-party booking platforms cannot be linked to AHLS, and therefore the special rate for course participants will not be granted.
Participants wishing to take advantage of this special rate are kindly asked to contact Hotel Odelya no later than 15 April 2026. After 16 April 2026, the reserved quota will be released. Booking requests submitted after this date may still be made but without any guarantee of availability or price.
The course fee includes one coffee break in the morning, one in the afternoon, and lunch on both day. All other refreshments and the evening meal are to be arranged and paid for individually by the participants.

Direkt vor dem Haupteingang Bahnhof SBB befindet sich die Haltestelle der Buslinie Nr. 30, welche Sie nach nur 3 Station direkt zur Haltestelle „Spaltentor“ (*) bringt.
Die Buslinie Nr. 30 fährt auch ab Badischer Bahnhof und bringt Sie binnen 12 Fahrminuten zur Haltestelle „Spaltentor“ (*).
Vom Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse zuerst mit Bus Nr. 50 bis Bahnhof SBB, danach mit Bus Nr. 30 bis Haltestelle „Spaltentor“. Ortskundige könnten mit der Linie 50 auch am «Brausebad» aussteigen und das Hotel zu Fuss über die Birmannsgasse erreichen.

Unterkunft
Die Unterkunft ist individuell zu organisieren. Die Organisation von Übernachtungen und die resultierenden Kosten daraus sind Sache der Teilnehmenden. Allfällige Hotel- oder Übernachtungsempfehlungen durch SCRED sind ausschliesslich Vorschläge, also nicht verpflichtend und somit auch NICHT Bestandteil des Weiter- und Fortbildungs-Arrangements.
